Inspired by soft barrel forms and the rhythm created by the ocean waves, Drift Residences on Main Beach exudes a calm sensibility of nestled comfort. Designed from the inside out as homes in the sky, Drift offers a unique lifestyle in the most in demand location on the Gold Coast. The architecture adopts cues from native trees along the coastline that create shade canopies and diffuse light and shadow.

The marriage of native tree forms with fluid ocean forms creates a series of residences protected by curved canopies formed out of linear battens that create both privacy and screening against the harsh sun. Creating visual interest, the screening promotes horizontal ocean views allowing for light and shadow to come into the units in a variety of interesting ways throughout the day. The soft elegant tower forms with its expressive canopy forms rest on a solid base made of masonry material offering a sense of solidity and permanence.
